the slacker that is me...

well i've been back from madison for quite a while - so long in fact that i am returning tomorrow for some auntie duties...i haven't been sitting idly by oh no - i've been...

1. sewing a wedding dress
2. finishing up some stuff for persimmons - a local shop (the owner, kim is fabulous btw)working on some graphic design projects for my regular gig and a local theatre group
3. spending time with my kiddos
4. trying to fit in time for creating...

anywho here are some of the pics from the last trip (i did promise after all). first up is the three monkeys...the two on the left are my babes and the littlest of them all is my bro's oldest. and the close up is mr. k - don't cha' just wanna' eat up those cheeks....mmmmm.

and last but not least is one of my favorite animals at the zoo...why i'm not quite sure....i'm sure their color has something to do with it - maybe it's because they don't look quite as sad as the other animals. i have a real problem with going to zoos in general, my sympathy/empathy issues really flare up and i usually leave rather depressed. this trip wasn't too bad though - the henry vilas zoo in madison is definitely worth the trip if you're near by and hey best of all it's FREE!

i'm thinking of doing something with this image - not quite sure what yet, but it may pop up in one of my creations in the not so distant future.

today i got soooooo worked up over some issues i've been carrying with me - i really need to work on letting things go...but the day ended up being really nice - i got to meet a new friend and spend some time with my lovies.

me n' the fam are heading down to madison to visit my little bro' and his fam for the weekend = good music, good food (oh the food), and good company...much fun. i promise pics when i return. hope your weekend is lovely.

new to you...

well, the lighting did not cooperate yesterday - in fact, the skies are still very much grey today (i'm not complaining mind you - i rather like grey days) - so i don't have any new and exciting pics to share today - but i will give you a sneak peak into some new items that will be making their appearance in the etsy shop very soon!

after much technical hullabaloo i think that i've got things figured out and hopefully i can start to focus on "the making of things" that i had hoped to create more time for, but still be able to express myself and make connections with all you beauties out there in blogland. today i want to give a big shout out to couple of the lovely bloggin' ladies that have inspired me to keep on keepin' on...

first up is the lovely tif from dottie angel she creates loveliness from vintage lace, doilies and underclothes - super fantastically lovely - and she's quite silly as well!

next on my list is probably one of my longest and most consistently read blogs, amanda from soulemama she is my parenting superhero - she really takes time to smell the roses - she's got a great sense of style too!

i really feel thankful for these ladies (as well as many others) who help me to feel like i'm not alone in my thoughts (and craziness for all things fiber-based). i've lived most of my life in a very small town in wisconsin...needless to say i don't have a lot of people around me that share my passions - so thanks to you all for helping the world seem a little smaller.

that's about it for today...later i'm gonna some pics for sharing with you all tomorrow (that is if the lighting situation improves.)

here i am...

ok folks - here i am dippin' my toes into the icy cold waters of blogland...i've decided (for a bit) that this will be my way of communicating with you all. also (for a bit) my goods will be available in my etsy shop - see link on the right...being a one-woman show i'm trying to streamline so i can focus on creating and not so much on the crud, i.e. website, shopping carts, and other icky, boring and tedious tasks.

i'm really gonna' try to write something interesting on a "regular" basis - how "regular" remains to be seen but i'm gonna' try...so for now...tootles!
